Ocean View improves to 4-0

Ocean View used two big quarters and a staunch defense to defeat Estancia, 35-7, in a battle of unbeaten teams at Ocean View High on Sept.14.

Ocean View improved to 4-0 with the win, while Estancia fell to 3-1. The Seahawks broken open a 0-0 tie with 21 points in the second quarter. After Estancia cut the lead to 21-7, late in the third, the Seahawks responded with a scoring drive to push the lead back to 28-7 and essentially put the game out of reach.

Seahawk quarterback Noah Hickman threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more. He found Brandon Alcaraz for a 45-yard touchdown and Will Earthman took a screen pass, used a block and broke a tackle for another touchdown late in the fourth.

Earthman and Desmond Doxey combined for 199 rushing yards to wear down the Eagle defense. Rodrigo Adame punched in a two-yard touchdown run to complete the scoring. Estancia had 74 rushing yards and a touchdown from quarterback Jaycen Cash, but he was pressured much of the night. The Seahawks had seven sacks, five by Josh Roberts and Naeco Logan intercepted a pass at the two yard line to end an Eagle scoring threat.

The Seahawks (4-0) travel to Dana Hills high tonight for a game against the 2-3 Dolphins. Estancia hosts Laguna Beach tonight. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
